Download of the Day: Gmail Filter Assistant (Greasemonkey)

Firefox with Greasemonkey: When a certain kind of message lands in your Gmail inbox, you want to make a filter in a flash to snag future email like it. The Gmail Filter Assistant Greasemonkey script lets you do just that.

While you’re looking at a Gmail message from someone or about something you want to automatically process a certain way, click on the Filter Assistant to define your criteria, pre-filled with message-specific inputs (to, from and subject.) Hey, Google? This should be built into Gmail by default - every good email client has a “create a filter from this message” feature. In the meantime, it’s a free download which works in Firefox with the Greasemonkey extension —Gina Trapani
